This is what about 25 cents of Barton garnet looks like. We went up to the Barton Garnet mine today, both to poke around and to enjoy the fall colors.
Barton is where the first real garnet sandpaper came from, as the garnet here is unusually hard and sharp when fractured from its host rock.
